Solidaritätsschreiben von Klaus Ernst und Gesine Lötzsch an den italienischen Gewerkschaftsbund zum Generalstreik am 6. September 2011
Dear colleagues,
We express our deepest solidarity to all who participated in the general strike at September 6 and our gratulations for this great success.
In a time when the ruling politicians try to make working people and pensioners, women and youth to pay for the costs of the capitalist crisis, sparing the rich and there non-work-based incomes, it is important to organise the resistance against this kind of policy. We agree with you that, instead, a policy is needed that stimulates the economy and the internal demand. The costs for this should be borne by the society on a solidary principle, meaning that the more wealty should carry a bigger part. At the same time the reasons for the crisis must be tackled.
We wish your success in the upcoming fights in order to defend people’s income and social rights against a neo-liberal policy, which is only oriented on the interests of the finance markets.
